Nutrition Services at Home (Home Visits for Babies, Children, and Families)

For some families, nutrition and feeding challenges are best supported in the home environment. Family Dietetics’ mobile paediatric nutrition services bring expert care directly to you — making it easier to understand your child’s feeding needs in their everyday setting.

Our home visits allow your paediatric dietitian to:

  • Assess your child’s feeding environment, including seating, cutlery, and feeding equipment

  • Observe real mealtimes to identify practical strategies for better nutrition and feeding outcomes

  • Support parents and caregivers with hands-on coaching and responsive feeding techniques

  • Collaborate with your wider healthcare team for consistent, multidisciplinary care

This approach can be especially beneficial for:

  • Babies and toddlers learning to eat

  • Children with medical or developmental feeding difficulties

  • Families working through tube feeding transitions

  • Children with eating disorders such as ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder), anorexia nervosa, or selective eating

  • Parents seeking confident, calm, and structured mealtime routines

  • People and children with mobility difficulties

By supporting families in their own environment, Family Dietetics’ home-based nutrition care helps promote lasting change and greater comfort for both children and parents.

Access expert family and paediatric dietitian services from the comfort of your own home with Family Dietetics Telehealth.
Our experienced team provides feeding therapy, eating disorder care, and children’s nutrition support online, helping families across Australia connect with specialist dietitians wherever they live.

Whether you’re in a rural or remote area, balancing a busy schedule, or simply prefer the flexibility of online care, our telehealth consultations deliver high-quality, individualised support without the need to travel.

Our telehealth sessions are:

  • Evidence-based and family-centred – empowering parents and carers with practical, supportive guidance

  • Interactive and effective – coaching families through real-life mealtime strategies within the child’s own environment

  • Collaborative – we work closely with your GP, psychologist, paediatrician, and other therapists to ensure integrated, multidisciplinary care

  • Flexible and comfortable – children and teens often feel more relaxed and open to progress when sessions take place at home

At Family Dietetics, we have successfully supported children and adolescents with:

  • Feeding difficulties and restricted eating

  • Tube feeding and transition to oral feeding

  • Growth and weight management concerns

  • Eating disorders, including ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder), anorexia nervosa, and bulimia nervosa

  • Sensory feeding issues and food aversion

Where complex conditions benefit from both in-person and online input, Dr Brooke Harcourt and the Family Dietetics team can provide shared-care telehealth consultations with your local clinicians for coordinated and continuous care.
